Eric Greenberg joins CMG from the New York and Washington, D.C. offices of Perkins Coie, LLP where he has been a Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Technology Transactions Practice Groups.

Eric is an award-winning, trusted legal advisor who brings decades of state-of-the art M&A experience, legal judgement and problem-solving to commercial and regulatory matters facing the technology, media, entertainment and telecom industries. His work has ranged from multi-billion-dollar M&A to strategic roll-ups of early stage tech companies, from traditional linear media to interactive entertainment. His clients have included leading media and technology players, content creators and distributors, just to name a few.

Prior to Perkins Coie, Eric was a Partner and Co-Chair of the Technology, Media, Entertainment and Telecom Industry Group for eight years at Paul Hastings, one of the largest law firms in the U.S. Earlier, he was an Associate and then a Partner at Covington & Burling LLP, where he helped develop the firm’s nationally prominent media and communications transactional practice. His clients included Gannett Inc, Bank of America, Pearl Mobile DTV, and The Washington Post. His work also draws on his earlier career experience with the U.S. Department of Justice where he served in the Office of Legal Counsel, advising the Attorney General, the White House and various executive branch agencies.

Eric has been recognized and praised as a creative and intuitive thought leader and was a winner of the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Award. In 2021, the Legal 500 recognized him in its Hall of Fame for media and tech transaction lawyers at the pinnacle of the profession. A member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland and New York, Eric writes and speaks on cutting edge developments, and has been published on the op-ed page of The Wall Street Journal. He received a J.D. with high honors from The George Washington University Law School and an undergraduate degree, cum laude, in political science from Tufts University.
