Christine Bouma is an experienced educator with a robust background in primary education, currently serving as a Lower School Science Teacher at Crane Country Day School since July 2015. Bouma has been a Fellow with the National Writing Project since 2000, focusing on transforming writing instruction from teacher-centered to student-centered learning. As a Cotsen Demonstration Teacher from 2008 to June 2015, Bouma specialized in pedagogy across science, mathematics, and reading workshop methodologies. Prior teaching positions include roles in Weaver and McGaugh elementary schools within the Los Alamitos Unified School District from 1995 to June 2015. Bouma also has international teaching experience as an International Visiting Teacher in China through the Global Cultural Foundation in April 2012. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Fine and Studio Arts from UC Irvine and a Multiple Subject Credential and Studio Art Single Subject from California State University, Fullerton.
