Rathul Anand is an undergraduate researcher in the Large-Scale Machine Learning Group at UCLA Computer Science, focusing on data quality and selection for memory-efficient large language model training and alignment. Rathul actively contributes as an officer in both ACM at UCLA and ACM Cyber, promoting algorithmic thinking and cybersecurity initiatives. Rathul founded and leads a project at Creative Labs, developing Leo Fitness, and is engaged in machine learning security research at the Secure Systems and Architectures Lab. Additional involvement includes competing in capture-the-flag cybersecurity tournaments and conducting research on mechanistic interpretability for transformers. Previously, Rathul served as Head of Technology at StreetFins, directed the online presence for financial literacy education, performed as a marimbist for the Blue Devils, and worked as a teaching assistant for a wind ensemble. Rathul is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering with a focus on Applied Mathematics at UCLA.
