Ujjawal Soni

Ujjawal Soni is a data science professional currently employed at CRED since August 2021. Prior to this role, Ujjawal served as a Lead Engineer at Samsung R&D Institute India, where responsibilities included designing and deploying deep neural network architectures for object detection, contributing to the AI Gallery photo search engine in the Samsung S21 series. Ujjawal's background also includes a position as a Senior Software Engineer on the Visual Understanding team, focusing on developing efficient deep learning solutions for various interaction detections, which were commercialized for the flagship Samsung smartphone. Earlier experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant for courses on Object Oriented Algorithms and Principles of Machine Learning at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, as well as a Research Intern at Adobe, where Ujjawal worked on fairness in recommendations for two-sided platforms. Ujjawal holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, attained between 2013 and 2018.
