Olaf Ruijter

Olaf Ruijter has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of risk management and insurance. Olaf currently works as a Risk Manager at Credit Linked Beheer B.V., where they handle various risk areas such as strategic, enterprise risk, financial, operational, IT, and non-financial risks. Prior to this, they held the role of Manager Specialties Non-Financial Risk Expert Center at Nationale-Nederlanden, where they were responsible for strengthening the first-line risk management and enhancing risk awareness and culture. Olaf also managed a team in the Defined Benefit department and temporarily managed the Data & Tooling team.

Before their role at Nationale-Nederlanden, Olaf worked at the Verbond van Verzekeraars as a member of the Working Group Future Pension System on behalf of Delta Lloyd. Olaf also held the position of Team Leader in the DC-team Expertise Center Life/Pension at Delta Lloyd, where they led a team of professionals in innovative product development for the pension market.

Olaf started their career at PwC Nederland in 1999, working their way up to the position of Senior Manager in Pensions Actuarial & Insurance Services. During their tenure, they focused on expanding the pension accounting business, providing advisory services on risk management, governance, and process improvement. Olaf also had experience as a Manager in Pensions Actuarial & Insurance Services, leading the coordination of 160 projects per year and ensuring smooth operations through planning, training, and process standardization.

Olaf's early work experience includes working as an Offerte Medewerker at AMEV (now a.s.r.) in the unit special accounts.

Olaf Ruijter completed their secondary education at Niels Stensen College from 1983 to 1989, obtaining a VWO degree. Olaf then pursued higher education at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1989 to 1993, earning a bachelor's degree in Economisch Juridisch afstudeerrichting Bank- en Verzekeringswezen (Economic and Legal specialization in Banking and Insurance).

Following this, Olaf Ruijter enrolled at Radboud University from 1993 to 1996, where they pursued a Master's degree in Business administration/Bedrijfskunde/Business management/Bedrijfsmanagement.

Later, they attended Actuarieel Instituut from 2004 to 2007, specializing in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Finance and earning the degree of Actuarieel Analist.

In addition to their formal education, Olaf Ruijter also obtained additional certifications. Olaf obtained a Lean Six Sigma Red Belt certification from Lean Six Sigma Partners in January 2021, and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification from Lean Competency System in June 2020.
