Giovanni Leoni has a diverse work experience, primarily focusing on responsible and ethical AI and analytics. Giovanni is currently the Head of Business Strategy & Development at Credo AI, where they help organizations create AI with high ethical standards. Giovanni is also a Member of Nordic Ethical AI Expert Group at Nordic Innovation, working towards responsible AI practices. Giovanni is a member of the Responsible Applications & Transformation Working Group and the AI Governance Alliance at the World Economic Forum, aiming to implement responsible AI design and deployment. Additionally, Giovanni serves as a Board Member at Transparency International Sverige, fighting against corruption globally. Giovanni is an Advisory Board Member at EAIGG: Ethical AI Governance Group and a Member at THINK AI Sweden. Previously, Giovanni worked as an Analytics Advisor at the International Institute for Analytics, where they assisted clients in implementing advanced analytics. Giovanni has also held various leadership positions at IKEA, including Global Head of Algorithm and AI Ethics and Global Development Leader for Advanced Analytics. Prior to that, Giovanni was the Head of Automation at Malmö stad, leading automation initiatives for higher efficiency. Giovanni began their career at Inter IKEA Group as a Business Analyst, Change Leader, and Project Leader, contributing to the analysis and improvement of total business performance. Throughout their career, Giovanni has consistently advocated for responsible and ethical AI practices.
Giovanni Leoni has a Master of Science degree in Business and Economics from Lund University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2004. In 2016, they completed the IKEA Leadership Potential Program. In 2013, they completed the Business Development Program at IKEA. Giovanni also completed a Leadership program at MTG Academy in 2009. Giovanni holds an International high school degree, bilingual in Swedish and English, from the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Östra Gymnasiet, which they completed from 1997 to 2000. Additionally, they have obtained a Professional Scrum Master I certification from Scrum in 2020. Most recently, in 2021, Giovanni completed a course titled "Ethical Considerations in AI" at Chalmers University of Technology, focusing on AI and Ethics.
