Sylvia Thompson

Sylvia Thompson Rognvik is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in peacebuilding, humanitarian affairs, and security sector reform. Currently serving as a Senior Manager and Yemen Manager at CMI — Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation since January 2018, Rognvik previously held roles such as International Consultant for UN/EU/OSCE/NORDEM and Women, Peace and Security Specialist at UN Women, where Rognvik led the development of the Jordanian National Action Plan for UNSCR 1325. Other notable positions include Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the United Nations OCHA, Monitoring Officer at OSCE, and Security Sector Reform Officer for the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). Rognvik has a Master of Philosophy in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Oslo and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
