Kandy Fabreo-Montelongo

Kandy Fabreo-Montelongo has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Kandy started their career as a Software Engineer for Flight Simulator at L-3 Communications, where they implemented the Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) interface and MFD symbology. Kandy applied various software design lifecycle methodologies and worked with FORTRAN, C, and Ada compilers on UNIX, VAX/VMS, and PC platforms.

Kandy then joined Rockwell Collins as a Software Quality Engineer for the Head Down Display Programs before transitioning to the role of Software Engineer for HMD Display Hardware Interface. In this position, they developed interfaces to various video processor FPGAs, helmet tracker electronics, and mux assembly, and implemented analog and video interfaces using Ada. Kandy also worked as a Software Engineer for Helmet Mounted Display, where they designed, coded, tested, and integrated the RS-485 command interface.

Kandy later joined Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) as a Senior Software Engineer in the C4N Division, where they focused on flight software development. Kandy then moved to General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems as a Systems Engineer, followed by a role as a Systems Engineer Lead at Osterhout Group.

Following this, they co-founded NatAural High Records LLC, where they served as a Co-Founder, Partner, and was responsible for business development. Subsequently, they joined Critical Realm Corporation and took on various roles including Flight Software Lead, VP of Engineering, and Deputy Project Manager.

Throughout their career, Kandy has showcased their technical expertise and leadership skills, delivering successful projects, managing budgets, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Kandy Fabreo-Montelongo completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a Computer Science Engineering Option at The University of Texas at Arlington from 1993 to 1998. Kandy also took an online course on Human-Computer Interaction through Coursera Online, specifically the Stanford HCI course by Associate Professor Scott Klemmer, in 2013. As a result, they obtained a certification in Human-Computer Interaction from Coursera in June 2013.
