Guojin Zhang has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Most recently, they have been working as a Lead Technology Specialist at Croda since April 2022. Prior to that, Guojin worked at L'Oréal for three years as an Associate Principal Scientist, where they focused on identifying innovative technologies related to hair color delivery and hair color removal.
Before L'Oréal, Guojin worked at Ashland for six years, starting as a Research Scientist in the Material Science Group and later becoming a Senior Staff Scientist. In these roles, they identified key performance attributes for new polymers, supported new polymer launches, and established mechanistic insight of hair internal structure alterations.
Guojin also gained experience at ISP as a Senior Scientist, where they specialized in spectroscopic imaging to evaluate the efficacy of cosmetic actives on skin and hair. Additionally, they conducted various instrumental testing for efficacy evaluation and presented scientific results at international conferences.
Earlier in their career, Guojin worked at Johnson & Johnson as a Senior Scientist, focusing on developing and validating models and methods for skin cosmetic product efficacy evaluation. They also supported clinic studies.
Guojin began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Rutgers University, where they pioneered the implementation of vibrational microscopic imaging techniques on wound healing process studies and characterized microstructure changes of skin.
Overall, Guojin Zhang has a strong background in research and development, with expertise in hair color, polymers, spectroscopic imaging, skin care, and wound healing.
Guojin Zhang earned a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from Rutgers University in the years 2003-2007. Prior to that, Zhang obtained an M.S. degree from Nanjing Tech University.
