Malcolm Aalstein

Malcolm Aalstein is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of construction law, market strategy, and conflict management. Currently serving as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Instituut voor Bouwrecht, Malcolm focuses on the legal integration of collaboration during the procurement and contracting phases within a broader research initiative. Concurrently, Malcolm holds the position of Senior Advisor for Market & Procurement at the Gemeente Amsterdam, where responsibilities encompass market strategies and governance issues within infrastructure projects. Malcolm has also played key roles in various initiatives, including leading dialogues with major contractors, managing tender processes for significant infrastructure developments, and providing training on procurement and contract management. In addition to multiple mediation roles and memberships in professional organizations, Malcolm Aalstein holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Delft University of Technology, further complementing an impressive portfolio of expert contributions to the construction and public procurement sectors.
