Tom Essebier has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Tom started their career at Stallion Technologies, where they served as SW Manager from 1989 to 1995. Tom then moved on to Compaq, where they worked as a Solutions Architect for their CRM & CTI practice, designing and implementing solutions for BOC Gas and Pioneer Concrete. In 2001, Tom joined NEC Australia as a Solutions Architect, responsible for overhauling the Genesys reporting subsystem and architecting the Child Support Agency Call Center. From 2002 to 2008, they worked at Secure Computing as Director of SW Engineering for their SnapGear range of appliances. In 2009, they joined McAfee as Director of Software Engineering before transitioning to 1300 FLOWERS as an IT professional. Tom then worked at Centrify Corporation as a Solutions Architect from 2011 to 2015, and is currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at CrowdStrike.

Tom Essebier earned their Bachelor of Science with Honors degree in Computer Science from The University of Queensland from 1985 to 1988.
