Harr Chen

Harr Chen is a Principal Applied Scientist at Cruise since December 2022, contributing to the long-term technical strategy and incubation projects focused on autonomous vehicles and AI/ML within the Office of the CTO. In addition, Harr serves as an Advisor at Antara Health, providing insights on data and machine learning to enhance healthcare access and quality in East Africa. Previous experience includes a role as Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, where Harr led the modeling quality for Cloud AI Document AI, and Chief Market Scientist at Vatic Labs. Harr's career also includes positions as an Algorithmic Trader at Jump Trading and various roles during education, including Graduate Research Assistant at MIT and Software Engineering Intern at The D. E. Shaw Group. Harr holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (AI/NLP) from MIT, along with a Master's Degree in Computer Science, a Financial Technology Certificate from MIT Sloan, and dual Bachelor's Degrees in Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science from the University of Washington.
