Jesse Soyland

Jesse Soyland has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Jesse began their career in 1996 as the Computer Lab Manager at Southwest Baptist University, where they wrote instant messaging and location utilities for Novell NetWare and an employee payroll management application. In 1997, they became an Operator at Norwest Financial and the Owner of Progressive Data Solutions, where they produced web pages, Active Server Pages, and applications for local businesses. Jesse then worked as an Intern at Motorola Corporation in 1999, where they wrote a tool in Perl to analyze C code for consistency and completeness. In 1998, they were a Programmer at Mark-It Systems, designing and implementing an application for management of real estate, and a Graphic Artist at Bell Graphics, doing typesetting and graphics work for various magazines and brochures. From 2000 to 2001, Jesse worked as a Software Engineer at Motorola, developing drivers and diagnostics for packet data interface used in next-generation cellular infrastructure. From 2001 to 2007, they were a System Engineer and System Architect/Production Owner at Cerner Corporation, responsible for the implementation of Cerner Millennium domains and layered technology for Cerner clients and supporting Cerner Millennium. Jesse then worked as a DSA at Heroku from 2019 to 2022 before moving to their current role as a Senior Customer Engineer at Crunchy Data.

Jesse Soyland attended Southwest Baptist University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science.
