Jörg Knaupp

Jörg Knaupp has extensive work experience in the technology and payment industry. Jörg is currently serving as the Head of Professional Services at Cryptomathic since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at PagoNxt (a Santander company) where they held various leadership positions, including Head of Transaction Squad Input Channel, On-behalf Head of Transaction Squad Gateways, and Head of POS Europe.

Before their tenure at PagoNxt, Jörg worked at Wirecard AG for several years. Their roles at Wirecard included Head of POS Europe, Head of Issuing Processing, Business Analyst, Team Lead NFC and Prototyping, Team Lead Issuing Processing, and Technical Project Manager.

Jörg also has experience working at Cryptomathic as a Product Marketing Manager PKI and Senior Solutions Architect. Jörg began their career at Entrust as a Security Consultant and later worked at SmartTrust GmbH as a Technical Sales Manager. Jörg's early experience includes working as a Technical Consultant at Gemplus GmbH.

Throughout their career, Jörg has demonstrated strong leadership skills, technical expertise in the payment industry, and experience in managing intercultural teams. Jörg is experienced in various areas of the payment industry, including traditional POS, smart POS, mobile POS, soft POS, and payment scheme specifications. Jörg is adept at analyzing business requirements and transforming them into technical requirements. Jörg also has expert knowledge in mobile payments, especially in cloud-based payments and host card emulation.

Jörg Knaupp completed their education at Hochschule Esslingen - University of Applied Sciences from 1993 to 1998. Jörg earned a degree in Information Technology, specifically a Dipl. Ing (FH). Additionally, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2015, Jörg Knaupp became a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) through the Scrum Alliance. In 2016, they completed the Fundamentals of Transaction Processing certification offered by Visa Europe. Most recently, in January 2021, they obtained the ISO 27001 Foundation - Information Security Certification from CertiProf.
