Jodi Harney

Vice President, Energy at CSA Ocean Sciences Inc.

Jodi Harney has extensive work experience in various roles related to marine and coastal research. Jodi started their career at the U.S. Geological Survey as a Marine Geologist, where they conducted field programs and used sedimentological techniques to examine nearshore processes and sediment dynamics. Jodi then worked as a Coastal and Marine Geologist at Coastal and Ocean Resources, Inc., managing the ShoreZone Coastal Habitat Mapping Program and collaborating with government and non-profit agencies. Jodi also taught Chemistry and Physics at Lake Highland Preparatory School for a year before joining Cardno ENTRIX as a Senior Project Scientist. In this role, they designed and managed offshore sampling and monitoring programs in the Gulf of Mexico following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Currently, Jodi serves as the Vice President of Energy at CSA Ocean Sciences Inc., where they develop and manages projects in the offshore oil and gas industry and renewable energy markets.

Jodi Harney holds a diverse education history. Jodi completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology at the University of Central Florida from 1991 to 1993. Following that, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Marine Sciences at the University of South Florida, where they studied from 1994 to 1996. Jodi then continued their academic journey by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Geology and Geophysics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, graduating between 1997 and 2000.

In addition to their academic achievements, Jodi Harney has also obtained certifications in aviation. Jodi holds an Instrument Rating, obtained from the Federal Aviation Administration in June 2021, as well as a Private Pilot Certificate, acquired in June 2019 from the same institution.
