Michael Coyne

Michael Coyne is a Senior Data Scientist at CSS, contracted to NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science since November 2015, specializing in marine ecology and the use of satellite telemetry and remote sensing for marine species research. As the Founder and Director of SEATURTLE.ORG since 2000, Michael has developed tools for the sea turtle community to enhance data management and endangered species conservation. Previously, Michael served as Managing Director for the International Sea Turtle Society and held research positions at Duke University and NOAA, focusing on data analysis, spatial modeling, and marine habitat mapping. Michael holds a PhD and MS in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Texas A&M University and a BS in Zoology from the University of Florida.
