Pat Davis

Pat Davis has a diverse work experience background. In 2005, they served as a Police Lieutenant at the University of New Mexico's Police Department. Pat later became the Special Program Director and Public Information Officer at the Second Judicial District Attorney's office in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 2009 to 2011. Davis then worked as the Chief Marketing Officer at Sutin Thayer & Browne for a brief period in 2011.

In 2011, they started their role as the Executive Director of ProgressNow New Mexico, the state's largest progressive advocacy organization. Davis held this position until 2018 and led successful campaigns in areas such as marriage equality, healthcare access, and equal pay.

In 2015, Davis founded the New Mexico Political Report, a non-profit news outlet that quickly became the state's most-read political news site. Pat served as the Founder and Publisher until 2018.

In 2019, Davis co-founded Weeds. Cannabis Consulting, a firm specializing in cannabis licensing, compliance, and services in New Mexico and Texas. Pat also chaired the Governor's Cannabis Legalization Working Group, which played a crucial role in establishing New Mexico's transition to an adult-use cannabis market.

From 2015 to 2023, Davis served as an elected City Councilor for Albuquerque, representing several neighborhoods and communities and becoming the City Council President. During their tenure, they helped pass economic development programs, solar infrastructure projects, and legislation to establish Albuquerque as an Immigrant-Friendly Community.

In 2020, Davis became the Owner and CEO of CTRL+P, a newspaper publishers focused on preserving and building local newspapers. Pat also served as the Publisher and Co-Owner of The Paper.

Lastly, starting in 2022 and continuing to the present, Davis owns and publishes multiple newspapers, including the Sandoval Signpost, The Independent News, and The Corrales Comment.

Overall, Pat Davis has a vast range of experience in various industries, including law enforcement, media, advocacy, and entrepreneurship.

Pat Davis obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Berry College, attended the University of Virginia to earn a Certificate in Criminal Justice Administration, completed the FBI National Academy for studies in Criminal Justice/Police Science, and attained a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University.
