Javier Arrue has extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry. Javier most recently served as the Head of Project Management and Construction at Cubico Sustainable Investments, where they led global corporate functions and was involved in investment and development committees. Prior to that, they held roles such as Head of Development & Construction and Vice President of Project Development & Construction at the same company. Javier also worked as a Construction and Development Manager at Cubico.
Before joining Cubico, Javier worked at SunEdison as a Project Development Manager for utility-scale wind and solar projects. Javier supported the M&A team and was responsible for project feasibility and coordination of risk mitigation plans.
Earlier in their career, Javier held positions at OPDE as a Project Manager for construction operations and PV solar developments in the UK, and at Grupotec as a Project Construction Manager, overseeing solar PV EPC projects.
Javier's experience also includes working as a Project Engineer at Grupotec and ECOSIONA, and as an R&D engineer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where they focused on energy consumption and implementing energy-saving technologies in supermarkets.
Javier Arrue holds an MSc. in Industrial Engineering, with a specialization in Construction and Industrial Installations, from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), which they completed by 2007. Javier then pursued a Master Thesis Degree in R&D Energy at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2008. In 2010, they briefly studied at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Additionally, in 2009 to 2010, Javier obtained a Master Executive degree in Project Management of Energy Installations, focusing on Renewable Energies, Energy Efficiency, and from Instituto tecnologico de la en.
In terms of certifications, Javier obtained a certificate in Financing and Investing in Infrastructure from Coursera Course Certificates in 2014.
