Deian Stefan

Deian Stefan has a diverse work experience. Deian co-founded Cubist in 2022 and currently holds the role of Co-Founder & Chief Scientist, where they focus on developing web3 dev tools and security. Deian is also a board member at Bytecode Alliance since 2022. Prior to their current roles, Deian was an Associate Professor at UC San Diego starting in 2016. Deian also co-founded Intrinsic in 2016, which was later acquired by VMware, and worked there until 2019.

Deian Stefan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Deian also obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. Deian Stefan further pursued their higher education at Stanford University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science. Additionally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at Stanford University.
