Kim Kuta Dring has a diverse work experience in the field of education and engagement. Kim started their career as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Utah State University in 1996 and continued to work there until 1999. From 1999 to 2001, they served as the Community Programs Director at Stokes Nature Center. In 2002, they worked as a Camp/Program Coordinator at Sherwood Eddy YMCA.
In 2003, Kim joined the YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago as a Teacher for a brief period. The same year, they also worked as an Education Specialist at the National Audubon Society.
From 2004 to 2018, Kim had a significant tenure at Stepping Stones Museum for Children. Their roles at the museum included Education Manager, School and Group Program Manager, Content Director, Director of Content Development, Research and Evaluation, and Director of Learning and Experience.
In 2018, Kim transitioned to The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens as the Director of Education. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Learning & Engagement at the museum. Their responsibilities involve overseeing the development and implementation of learning-based experiences with art and gardens, building partnerships, managing a team, increasing attendance, generating revenue, and adding value to membership.
Kim Kuta Dring completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bradley University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Afterward, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science degree in Biology from Utah State University, graduating in 2002.
