Highly respected for his long history of success in banking and fintech, Gary is well recognized for building high-performance management teams, collaborative cultures and bringing his tireless work ethic and creativity to business opportunities and challenges.
Gary was most recently Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Chairman of the Operating Committee at PayPal, where he led business units in the 220 countries and delivered seven consecutive years of 20+ percent revenue growth, 30+ percent growth in customer acquisitions and margin expansion - making it one of a handful of publicly listed companies to deliver such notable results. Gary joined PayPal in 2008 through its $1 Billion acqusitioin of Bill Me Later, an innovative alternative digital payment and credit service, which he founded and led. Previously, Gary held executive management roles in the financial services industry, including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Credit Officer at Bank One Card Division (now JPMorgan Chase) and Chief Credit Officer at Citibank’s Global Credit Card Divisions.
A graduate of Syracuse University and Indiana State University, Gary is a board member of the Johns Hopkins Discovery Fund for Research in Rheumatology.
