Álvaro Peris

Álvaro Peris has worked in various roles since 2014. From 2014-2015, they were a Student Researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). In 2015, they began working as a Researcher at UPV, where they researched (neural) machine transaction and other sequence to sequence tasks (captioning) as well as interactivity and adaptation (online, active learning). In 2019, they joined Sonia as a Machine Learning Engineer, where they researched and developed Speech and NLP technology such as speech recognition and text classification. In 2020, they joined Cushion as a Machine Learning Engineer and then a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, where they developed and maintained advanced technology to tackle a variety of problems related to customer finance, including bank transaction categorization, recurring bills detection, and lending risk management.

Álvaro Peris obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) between 2008 and 2014. During this time, they also obtained a Certificate of Advanced English from Cambridge English Language Assessment. From 2014 to 2015, they earned a Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition and Digital Imaging from UPV. Finally, from 2015 to 2019, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from UPV. Additionally, they studied German Studies at Centro Alemán Valencia from 2012 to 2014, and obtained an Engineer's degree in Computer Science from the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin from 2010 to 2011.
