Laura Stella Lortie-Maurel

Laura Stella Lortie-Maurel is a seasoned Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Specialist with extensive experience in promoting GESI initiatives across various organizations. Currently at Cuso International since November 2021, Laura leads efforts to enhance GESI within Community Partner Organizations and the Cuso Canada office. Previous roles include Public Outreach Officer at WUSC, where Laura managed gender equality events and analyzed engagement data, and Project Manager for VWB/VSF, overseeing gender mainstreaming in projects across African nations. Laura also served as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at the Women's Rights Center in Honduras, securing over 1 million in grants, and as a Public Affairs Officer at Aga Khan Foundation Canada. Laura's career began at Cuso International as a Gender Equality Advisor, focusing on strategic gender planning. Academic credentials include a Master's in Feminist and Gender Studies and a Bachelor's in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa, along with a TEFL certification.
