Joe Schmidt's work experience includes co-founding CustomerHD in 2017, where they were involved in handling customer support for various brands. In the same year, they also founded Freedom United, an online anti-slavery movement. In 2014, Joe founded Audacity Factory, a thinktank/incubator focused on humanitarian issues. Joe also served as an advisor/investor for Second Nature, an HVAC filter subscription service, and as an investor for Stealz, Inc., a social media solution for restaurants, and FotoSwipe, a photo sharing app. In 2012, they became a board member of the Wesleyan Investment Foundation, providing loans to churches and church-related entities. Joe also served as an investor/advisor for Cultures for Health Inc., an online retailer for cultured and fermented foods. Joe co-founded Tom & Joe Inc. in 2013 and was a reference group member for Alliance 8.7 Knowledge Platform at the United Nations University from 2017 to 2019.
Joe Schmidt earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Entrepreneurship from Ball State University, which they attended from 1990 to 1994. Joe then pursued further education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Marketing & Organizational Studies from Boston College, where they studied from 1994 to 1996.
