Eshan Deane has worked in the food technology, software and technology industries since 2011. In 2019, they began working as a Product Manager at Cut+Dry, a Silicon Valley food tech startup. At Cut+Dry, they were responsible for defining the product vision and strategy, owning the product roadmap, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure product goals were met. Eshan launched a B2B logistics product along with Android and iOS delivery apps for drivers, which engaged 5 food suppliers in the US and delivered 90,000+ orders to 3000+ restaurants within the first year of launch.
Prior to Cut+Dry, Eshan Deane worked at Sysco LABS Sri Lanka from 2012-2019. During this time, they held the roles of Product Owner (Business Analyst), Operations Lead, Senior Operations Engineer, and Application Support Engineer. In their role as Product Owner, they increased user base by 100% and revenue by 120%. As Operations Lead, they formed and led the CAKE payment gateway support team, studying the CAKE payment gateway product and credit card payments domain in the US and training team members. As Senior Operations Engineer, they spearheaded the CAKE payment gateway account migration and version upgrade projects. As Application Support Engineer, they provided tier 1 and tier 2 customer support for the CAKE POS product on a 24/7 shift basis.
In 2011, Eshan Deane worked at John Keells Computer Services Pvt. Ltd. as a Help Desk Executive, providing tier 1 customer support for a hotel reservation system on a 24/7 shift basis and providing product training to users on-site. Eshan also held an Intern role at IBM during this year.
Eshan Deane completed a G.C.E Advanced Level & G.C.E Ordinary Level in Mathematics at Trinity College Kandy between 1994 and 2007. Eshan then obtained a Diploma of Computing from the Australian College of Business and Technology in 2007-2008. In 2009-2010, they received a Diploma in Information Technology from SLIIT. Finally, they obtained a BEng (Hons) in Computer Networks and Communication Technology from Coventry University between 2011 and 2012. In addition, they obtained a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum.org in February 2018.
