Emre Ay

Emre Ay has a diverse range of work experience in the field of robotics and software development. Emre started their career as an intern at Turk Telekom in 2013, where they gained hands-on experience in the telecommunications industry. Emre then joined ITU Robotics Lab as a student intern, initially for two months as part of a mandatory internship, and continued working voluntarily. In this role, Emre set up and maintained mobile robots, created necessary documentation and tutorials, tracked new software and hardware, and contributed to the migration of outdated systems. Emre also developed a ROS metapackage for ITU-AGV robots and provided assistance to superiors in various tasks.

In 2017, Emre joined Navenio Ltd as an R&D Engineer, where they made significant contributions to the development of indoor localization technology and its applications in healthcare. Emre worked on diverse projects, including solving research problems, developing novel algorithms, implementing prototypes in Python, and creating performant production-level code in C++. Emre also played a key role in developing the new back-end system for the company's intelligent workforce tasking product, which utilized indoor location data for optimal task assignments. During their time at Navenio, Emre showcased their transferable skills from their robotics background and played a pivotal role in the company's growth.

Alongside their role at Navenio, Emre also worked as a Master Thesis Student at KTH Robotics, Perception and Learning Lab. Emre completed their thesis in six months, contributing to the lab's research efforts.

Emre's most recent work experience is as a C++ Developer at CVEDIA since 2022, where they continue to apply their expertise in software development and coding.

Emre Ay has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Systems, Control and Robotics, which they obtained from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Emre attended this institution from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Control & Automation Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. Emre was enrolled in this program from 2010 to 2015.
