Kathleen Gentry, Ph.D., currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Charlottesville City Schools since July 2023, after a tenure as Assistant Principal at Lynchburg City Schools from July 2022 to June 2023. With extensive experience in educational leadership, Kathleen held multiple roles at Madison County Public Schools between July 2017 and June 2022, including Assistant Principal-Equity Co-Chair, Alternative Education Administrator, and Hearing Officer. Prior experiences include serving as a Teacher/Coordinator at Nelson County Public Schools from July 2010 to June 2017 and as Director of Education at Jefferson Trail Treatment Center for Children from May 2009 to May 2010. In terms of education, Kathleen earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from Liberty University, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from the University of New England, and holds advanced degrees in Teaching & Sociology, Political Science and Government, and a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University.
