Subodh Kulkarni

Dr. Subodh Kulkarni has been a director of CyberOptics since 2009, has been the President and Chief Executive Officer since February 2014, was the Executive Chairman from September 2013 to February 2014, and was the lead director from December 2012 until his election as Executive Chairman. From January 2013 to February 2014, Dr. Kulkarni served as Chief Executive Officer of Prism Computational Sciences, a developer of software tools for scientific and commercial applications in the simulation of hot gases and plasma used in the semiconductor industry (“Prism”). Prior to being employed by Prism, he held various positions with Imation Corporation (“Imation”), including Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, OEM/Emerging Business and Vice President, Global Commercial Business, R&D, and Manufacturing. Prior to his employment with Imation, Dr. Kulkarni held various research management positions with 3M Corporation and IBM. Dr. Kulkarni serves on the Board of Directors of Key Tronic. Dr. Kulkarni received his B.S. in chemical engineering from IIT—Bombay, India (where he was first in his class), and went on to obtain a Masters Degree and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he did his thesis work on disilane surface decomposition, which is used in the manufacture of semiconductors. He has won a number of awards for commercializing technologies he and others have developed in the electronics industry. Dr. Kulkarni brings to the Board significant expertise in the management of technology-focused entities, in the commercialization of technologies in the electronics, computer, and semiconductor industries, and in the markets for the products.
