Vlad Gostomelsky has over 20 years of experience in the security industry. Vlad began their career in 2001 as an Officer at Hacksrus LLC, where they provided counter surveillance operations, SigInt, HumInt, investigations, incident response, IDS and IPS monitoring, show-of-force presence, and recovery services. In 2006, they became a Senior Security Engineer at NET2S, where they performed penetration testing for global banking, telecommunications, and service industry clients. In 2007, they took a Consultant role at INS, where they provided security and compliance services. In 2009, they became a Penetration Testing specialist at Pfizer. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Senior Security Consultant at Dell SecureWorks, where they performed penetration testing of critical national infrastructure and investigated hosts that were PCI failing. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Senior Security Engineer and Principal Security Engineer at CyberPoint International, where they conducted penetration testing of SCADA systems, medical devices, and offensive cyber operations, as well as vulnerability research. In 2020, they were appointed Chief Security Officer at Maxwell Labs Inc.
Vlad Gostomelsky attended Rutgers University from 2003 to 2005, studying Legal Studies and Criminal Justice. Vlad also attended New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2005, studying Information Systems, Network Security, and Legal Studies. In addition, they have attended courses at BlackHat. Vlad has also obtained two certifications: GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) from the SANS Institute in August 2015, and GPEN (GIAC Penetration Tester) from the SANS Institute in April 2011.
