Patricia Bourassa has extensive work experience in the field of biology and pharmaceutical research. Patricia started their career at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in 1989 and worked as a Scientist for over 20 years until 2011. In this role, Patricia was responsible for conducting scientific research and analysis.
In 2011, Patricia joined Karos Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Scientist. Here, they were one of the founding members of an in vivo biology team that focused on identifying small molecules for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Patricia played a crucial role in designing, managing, and executing rodent studies, as well as performing histological and immunohistochemical analyses of study tissues.
In 2017, Patricia joined Cybrexa Therapeutics as a Research Scientist. Patricia became a member of the in vivo biology team, where their main task was to identify cancer therapeutics that specifically target tumors while minimizing toxic effects. Patricia was responsible for managing and executing acute and chronic studies in rodent models. Additionally, Patricia provided administrative and technical support in establishing and managing the in vivo biology lab and vivarium.
Prior to their career in the pharmaceutical industry, Patricia owned and managed their own business, The Scrapaholics Hideaway, from 2003 to 2016. As the owner, teacher, designer, and event planner, they gained valuable entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

Patricia Bourassa earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Connecticut College. Patricia completed their Bachelor's degree from 1982 to 1986, and later pursued their Master's degree from 1989 to 1991.
