Joseph Hampton has a strong background in system administration and engineering. Joseph began their career in 2011 as a Satellite Network Controller in the US Army, where they were responsible for monitoring and controlling satellites and ensuring successful communication for missions. Joseph then worked as a Network Administrator and later a System Administrator at NexOne, Inc., where they maintained and upgraded a Windows server environment. In 2017, they joined Telesis Corporation as a System Administrator, where they handled network monitoring, shell scripting, and equipment provisioning. From 2018 to 2019, they worked at Scholz Associates, Inc. as a System Engineer, focusing on vulnerability analysis and patch management for the EMARSS system. Currently, they are employed at CyOne as a Cyber Security Engineer, working on the hardening and continuous monitoring of baselines for the DCGS-A project. Joseph's experience demonstrates their expertise in system administration, network monitoring, and security engineering.
Joseph Hampton obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security and Networking from the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2018 to 2020. In addition to their degree, they also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they earned the Linux+ certification from CompTIA, the CySA+ certification from CompTIA, the Network+ certification from CompTIA, and the LPIC-1 certification from the Linux Professional Institute. Joseph further obtained the CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification in September 2018 and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)^2 in June 2021.
