Katherine Tuggle Stringer has a diverse work experience that spans across various organizations. Katherine began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they conducted research on the effects of environmental air pollutants on lung development. During this time, they presented their findings at international scientific meetings and mentored students.
Following their role at the university, Katherine worked at Beck Disaster Recovery, Inc as a Consultant, where they evaluated healthcare organizations' emergency operation plans for compliance with regulatory agency standards.
Katherine then joined the Georgia Division of Public Health as the Interim Hospital Preparedness Program Director/Bioterrorism Project Manager. In this role, they directed federal funding grants, maintained relationships with hospital staff and emergency preparedness personnel, and coordinated preparedness efforts with other agencies.
Currently, Katherine works at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as the Senior Director of Research. Katherine'sresponsibilities include overseeing a multi-million dollar research portfolio, establishing relationships with scientists and medical professionals, and communicating scientific data to various audiences.
Throughout their career, Katherine has presented their research at conferences, published manuscripts, and demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in the field.
Katherine Tuggle Stringer has a strong education background in the field of Environmental Health Sciences/Environmental Toxicology. Katherine obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham between 2008 and 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Regulatory Affairs at The University of Georgia from 2007 to 2008. Katherine'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Georgia, which they completed from 2001 to 2005. In addition, they hold a certification as a Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) obtained from the American College of Sports Medicine in December 2005.
