Jacob VanderBurgh has a diverse work experience in various scientific and research roles. Jacob started working at CyteQuest in 2020 as a Principal Scientist. Prior to that, they were a Doctoral Candidate at Cornell University from 2014 to 2020, where they worked under the guidance of Dr. Cynthia Reinhart-King. Jacob also worked as a Clinical Intern at Weill Cornell Medicine in 2015, where they gained experience in Vascular Surgery and conducted clinical research on renal artery morphology. Before that, Jacob worked at the Rochester Center for Biomedical Ultrasound from 2011 to 2014. Jacob was an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Dalecki Lab, where they designed experiments related to biomedical ultrasound, and also served as a Teaching Assistant, helping students with engineering concepts and computer laboratories.

Jacob VanderBurgh completed their education in a chronological order. Jacob attended Olympia High School from 2006 to 2010, where they did not receive a degree nor specify a field of study. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Engineering and Biological Sciences at the University of Rochester from 2010 to 2014. Finally, they enrolled at Cornell University from 2014 to 2020 and successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Engineering.
