RJ Friedman is an accomplished cybersecurity professional currently serving as a Committee Member at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency since 2024, where a commitment to protecting the nation at the intersection of cybersecurity and politics is evident. RJ has extensive experience as a fractional Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) for multiple organizations since 2018, ensuring the implementation of robust cybersecurity strategies. As the Chief Executive Officer of dayONE Cyber, RJ leads a Managed Security Service Provider that prioritizes customer service and comprehensive cybersecurity solutions. Previous roles include Head of Managed Security Services at Apollo Information Systems, CISO and Practice Leader at Buchanan Technologies, and various positions in business development and account management at Forcepoint™, Infocyte, Rackspace, and Citrix Online. RJ holds a BA in Political Science from Oregon State University and has engaged with the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals since 2017 to support career opportunities in the cybersecurity industry.
