Ashwin Karkala Hegde

Ashwin Karkala H. has over two decades of work experience, starting from their role as a Software Engineer at IBM in 1999. Ashwin Karkala then worked as a Technical Lead at Hewlett Packard ISO Ltd from 2000 to 2006.

From 2006 to 2013, Ashwin had various roles at Oracle India Pvt Ltd, including Principal Member Technical Staff, Development Manager, and Senior Development Manager. Ashwin Karkala was responsible for building features in key areas such as private cloud provisioning, middleware management, and service level management modeling.

At Oracle India Pvt. Ltd, Ashwin also served as a Director of Software Development for EM Cloud Control and as a Director for Oracle Management Cloud - APM. In the latter role, they focused on using design thinking principles to build cloud solutions using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, HDFS, and Kafka.

In 2018, Ashwin joined VMware as the Director of Engineering, where they managed and grew the Horizon Enterprise Global Product Engineering team. Ashwin Karkala played a significant role in designing and building the next generation VDI product that was completely SaaS based.

Most recently, since 2021, Ashwin has been working at Cyware as the Vice President and currently the Senior Vice President of Engineering. Ashwin Karkala is known for successfully building products and high-performance teams by leveraging design thinking principles and creating a culture based on trust and empathy.

Ashwin Karkala H. completed their high school education at S.A.M.S from 1989 to 1993. Ashwin Karkala then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Communication from the University of Mysore, from 1995 to 1999.
