Akhil Arunkumar has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2007 as an Intern at Tessolve Services Pvt. Ltd. In 2009, they became a Primary Engineer / Graduate Engineer Trainee at Agc Networks. From 2012-2013, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at UNC Charlotte. From 2014-2015, Akhil was a Performance Architecture Intern at Samsung Austin R&D Center, and in 2016 they were an Architecture Research Intern at NVIDIA. In 2018, they returned to Samsung Austin R&D Center as a Sr. Performance Architect, and in 2019 they became a SoC Performance Architect at AMD. Akhil is currently a Sr. Principal Software Engineer at d-Matrix.

Akhil Arunkumar obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunication Engineering from B. M. S. College of Engineering between 2005 and 2009. Akhil then went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte between 2010 and 2012. Finally, Akhil Arunkumar obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from Arizona State University between 2013 and 2018.
