Laura Wright has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Laura started their career as a Newsroom Clerk/Reporting Intern at The Gainesville Sun in 2007 and then worked as an Editorial Assistant at Tower Publications from 2008 to 2009. Laura then joined NCCER as a Production Specialist from 2009 to 2011 before transitioning to Pearson Online & Blended Learning. At Pearson, they held various positions, starting as an Educational Quality Associate from 2011 to 2012, then as an Editor from 2012 to 2015, and eventually as a Lead Editor from 2015 to 2016.
In 2016, Laura joined Full Sail University as a Content Writer/Editor, where they were responsible for writing, copyediting, and fact-checking instructional material. Laura also collaborated with designers, copywriters, and faculty on copy and design decisions. Additionally, they worked on editing user documentation for their proprietary learning-management system and reviewed proposed curriculum modifications. Laura also compiled exhibits from various departments for accreditation renewals and edited legal documents.
After their time at Full Sail University, Laura worked at Pearson as a Copywriter from 2020 to 2022. Here, they gained further experience in creating written content. Most recently, they were a Senior Content Associate at D50 Media starting in 2022, contributing to the creation and management of content. Additionally, Laura is currently serving as a Lead Editor at Mesothelioma Hope.
Laura Wright attended the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
