Rory Benson has a diverse range of work experience in the media industry. Rory began their career as a Trainee Journalist at Press Association Sport in 2015 before moving on to work as a Sports Writer at GetReading and then as a Trainee Football Content Producer at Trinity Mirror Regionals. In 2016, they worked as a Digital Sport Content Producer at Birmingham Mail and Dublin Live, generating football and sport content for both organizations. Rory then joined Huddersfield Examiner as a Sports Writer, contributing to coverage of Huddersfield Town and other football-related topics. In 2019, Rory became a Sport Social Media Editor at Reach plc, where they worked until 2021 when they took on the role of Deputy Head of Social Media at The Sun. Currently, Rory is serving as the US Head of Audience Engagement at Daily Mail since 2023.

Rory Benson attended The King's School in Chester from 2001 to 2012. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree in International Relations and Politics at Cardiff University from 2012 to 2015.
