Padma Rao has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Padma started their career as an Intern at Kirloskar Electric Co. Ltd., where they conducted electrical tests and repaired faulty wiring. Padma then worked as a Student Intern at ABB, where they developed a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System using RTU and microSCADA.

After their internship, Padma joined Schneider Electric as an Electrical Engineer, where they reviewed technical tests and developed software technologies for electrical equipment. Padma later worked at Wayne State University as a Graduate Ambassador, assisting international students and updating admissions databases.

Padma then joined Ghafari Associates as an Electrical Design Engineer, designing and analyzing electrical systems. Padma 'sresponsibilities included controlling architectural, electrical, and mechanical components.

Most recently, Padma worked at Rivian as a Senior Solutions Engineer, where they designed and supported the deployment of charging and energy products for electric vehicle infrastructure. Padma used various software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, pvsyst, Helioscope, Etap, and SKM to develop program requirements and design reports.

Currently, Padma is working at Daimler Truck North America as a Vehicle HV Charging and EVSE Development Associate Principal Engineer, focusing on the development of high-voltage charging systems for electric vehicles.

Padma Rao earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Visvesvaraya Technological University from 2010 to 2014. Before their undergraduate studies, they attended MES Vidyasagara Prof M.P.L Sastry Pre University College from 2008 to 2010 where they pursued pre-university coursework. Padma completed their high school education at Cordial High School, obtaining their 10th-grade diploma in 2010.
