Naoko Koyama

Naoko is the Regional Director for Africa and is based in Nairobi; advising on strategy, financial planning and management, market analysis, and monitoring and evaluation. She has experience in agri-business, global health, inclusive business models, business start-up strategy, access to finance, trade and investment policy, and financial management.

Naoko’s recent work includes assisting private companies to develop inclusive business models targeting low-income populations as customers and assessing the social impact of these models’ social impact. She recently helped an energy company to establish a business model for distributing an alternative energy source to the urban poor on a commercial basis, and supported the pilot’s design, monitoring, and partnership building.

Prior to Dalberg, Naoko worked for the International Finance Corporation, where she held positions at the Independent Evaluation Group and the Investment Climate Advisory Services. Naoko holds an MA in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and is a US Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
