Douglas Lee

Director, Technology & STEM at Dallas International School

Douglas Lee is the Director of Technology at Dallas International School. Douglas has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in software engineering and systems architecture.

Lee's career began in 1994 as a software engineer with RDS Tasks International. Douglas quickly rose through the ranks and became a project team leader within a few years. In 2000, they transitioned to Nortel Networks as a data warehousing and data analyst.

In 2003, Lee joined Sunergon Information Services Inc. as a software engineer and systems architect. Douglas was responsible for designing and creating an online transaction processing system (OLTP) to keep track of prepaid mobility and Internet gift cards. The system was an authorization engine, similar to credit card processors, that processed card activations in real time at the Point-Of-Sale (POS). Lee oversaw and dealt directly with store processors that would connect to the transaction processing server for certification to the OLTP system by providing the technical resource for system troubleshooting and trouble ticket resolution.

In 2005, Lee left Sunergon to join Dallas International School as their Director of Technology. Douglas has been with the school ever since, overseeing all aspects of their IT operations.

Douglas Lee has a Master of Engineering Science from Western University in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering Science also from Western University in Mechanical Engineering. Douglas also has certification from Blackbaud in both Blackbaud Certified K-12 onCampus (bCCA) and Blackbaud Certified K-12 "ON" Products (bCON). Lastly, they have a certification from edX in edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight.

They work with Sergio Franklin - Athletics Director, Michelle Provan - Director of Marketing & Communications, and Susan Zic - Development Manager. Douglas Lee reports to Josep González, Head of School.
