Gary Levinson

Senior Principal Associate Concertmaster at Dallas Symphony Orchestra

Gary Levinson is a distinguished musician and arts administrator with extensive experience in the classical music field. Currently serving as the Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth since May 2013, Levinson also holds the position of General Manager for the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival of Miami since July 2018. As Senior Principal Associate Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since September 2001, Levinson has demonstrated exceptional leadership and musical talent. Previous roles include Director of Strings at the Miami Music Festival from September 2015 to July 2017, and violin faculty at the Aspen Music Festival and School from July 2002 to August 2010. Levinson’s career began as a violinist with the New York Philharmonic from May 1988 to January 2002. Educationally, Levinson received both a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Violin from The Juilliard School, completing the master's degree in 1991 and the bachelor's degree in 1988.
