Steve Ahearn is an accomplished clarinetist and educator currently serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Clarinet at Southern Methodist University since January 2022. A highly skilled musician, Ahearn has held the position of Acting Associate Principal and Eb Clarinet at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since 2012 and has performed as a guest musician with Chatter and Voices of Change Dallas since 2018 and 2019, respectively. Ahearn's previous experience includes acting Second and Eb Clarinet with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Principal Clarinet at Sarasota Opera, and bass clarinet at Santa Fe Opera. Additionally, Ahearn has worked in marketing and community relations with Present Music and served as a loaned executive for the United Performing Arts Fund. Ahearn holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Biology from the University of Richmond.
