Candice Thompson is an accomplished editorial director and co-founder of DIYdancer Magazine, where a platform for dancers to critically engage with their art form has been established since September 2015. In addition to providing editorial direction for various publications and podcasts, Candice has contributed as a freelance writer for Dance Media Publications and ARTS ATL, covering a range of dance-related topics. Previous roles include lead curator at GLOATL and a certified Pilates instructor at BodyTonic Pilates Brooklyn. Candice's background as a professional dancer includes tenures with ad hoc Ballet and Milwaukee Ballet. Academically, Candice holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, a BA in Performing Arts from Saint Mary's College of California, and was a BFA candidate at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
