Carlos Julio Arana-Suarez has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Carlos Julio started their career as an Able Bodie Seaman at Marine Towing from 1982 to 1988, where they were responsible for maintaining vessel cleanliness, performing maintenance and repairs on mooring equipment, and assisting with cargo operations. From 1988 to 2016, they worked as a Chief Mate at Gulf Coast Transit, where they served on an ocean-going A.T.B. vessel. In 2019, they joined Dann Ocean Towing Inc. as a Chief Officer. Currently, they are working as a Mate at Express Marine Inc.

Carlos Julio Arana-Suarez has a strong background in maritime training and navigation. In 1988, they began their education at Mitags, Sea School, MAMA, PMT & QMT, where they focused on general navigation. This education spanned over several years and ended in 2019.
