Senior Mechanical Engineer at DarkVision

Ali Gholami, M.Sc., P.Eng. has a diverse work experience in mechanical engineering and project management. Ali currently serves as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at DarkVision Technologies Inc., where they lead the design team in developing an autonomous swimming robot for pipeline inspection. Ali has also developed analytical models to describe the kinematics of the robot inside oil and gas pipes. Prior to this role, they worked at PAC - Petroleum Analyzer Company as a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, leading the mechanical design team in multiple product development projects. One of their notable projects involved designing and developing OptiMVD, an ASTM-approved multi-temperature density/viscosity analyzer. Ali also contributed to the design and development of the first ASTM-approved Diesel Fuel Analyzer capable of performing critical diesel tests. Ali's experience also includes working as a Mechanical/Thermal Engineer at Terrella Energy Systems Ltd., where they focused on characterizing and improving graphite-based thermal interface materials. Additionally, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer/Research Assistant at Simon Fraser University, where they proposed and validated a smart passive cooling system for high-power equipment.

Ali Gholami, M.Sc., P.Eng. completed their education in a chronological manner. Ali first attended Sharif University of Technology from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they pursued further education at Simon Fraser University from 2012 to 2014, earning a Master's degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Gholami has also obtained certifications. In January 2013, they completed a Machine Shop Training program at Simon Fraser University. Furthermore, they have obtained the Professional Engineer designation from Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Lastly, Gholami has shown an interest in project management by acquiring the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
