Markus Schmitt

Markus Schmitt has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Markus is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Propeller Heads since January 2022. Prior to this, they were the CEO of Data Revenue GmbH, the largest Machine Learning team in Germany, where they built complex enterprise Machine Learning solutions for automative and biotech companies starting from April 2015. In addition, they are a Founding Member of KI Bundesverband e.V. since November 2018.

Before that, Markus co-founded i-Chron Fahrschulsoftware in January 2013, where they developed Fahrstundenplaner, an appointment booking system for driving schools. Markus also founded Airbucks.io in January 2015, an Airbnb scraping side project that grew into a platform allowing hosts to check historical and future demand for listings.

In 2014, they worked in product development at KIWI.KI, a company enabling keyless entry to homes. Prior to that, they served as a Project Manager at Team Europe Management GmbH from May 2013 to November 2013, supporting the management of the portfolio and assisting in recruitment.

Markus also has experience in the art industry, as they founded and served as CEO of Rotebete Kunst GmbH from September 2011 to 2012. The company connected young artists with venues in Berlin to organize exhibitions and sold artworks to visitors. Markus started their career with internships at Credit Suisse in 2009 and HypoVereinsbank - UniCredit Bank AG in 2008, gaining exposure to trading derivative products and other departments.

Markus Schmitt began their education at Hockerill Anglo-European College in 2006, where they completed their high school education and earned an IB Diploma with 42 points. Markus also achieved a 1.0 in the German Abitur (Bavaria) with a focus on Mathematics, Physics, and German.

After completing high school, Markus Schmitt attended the University of Warwick from 2008 to 2011. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics and Economics.
