Mark Welch has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Mark began their career at AT&T in 1992, where they held various roles including Manager, Area Manager, Director, and General Manager. In these positions, they focused on network regulatory issues, intercarrier interconnection agreements, and process improvement projects. Mark then became the Assistant Vice President at AT&T, overseeing functions such as Global Network Field Operations and Product Realization. Mark also led the development of operational strategies for AT&T's consumer flagship product, U-verse Internet, Video, and VoIP.

In 2016, Mark joined CenturyLink as the Vice President of Consumer Transformation, where they successfully transformed consumer operations and increased Net Promoter Score (NPS) while driving cost reductions. Mark also held the role of Vice President of Cost Transformation, where they carried out cost reduction initiatives in third-party transport expenses, vendor service management, and network project management.

Mark's most recent role was at Lumen Technologies, where they served as the Vice President of Enterprise Operations Transformation. Mark led teams responsible for transforming Enterprise Service Delivery and Assurance, developing operational strategies to drive work elimination and execute a Digital Customer Experience.

Currently, Mark is the President & CEO of Dataken Incorporated, starting in 2022.

Mark Welch's education history begins with attending Union High School from 1984 until 1987. Afterwards, they enrolled at the University of Oklahoma for their Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, though the specific start and end years for this period are unknown. Later, they pursued a Masters degree in Administrative Studies at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1994. Finally, Mark returned to the University of Oklahoma once again to obtain a second Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, but the exact time frame for this is also unknown.
