Dr. Harmen van der Veer

Dr. Harmen van der Veer is an accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in data science and research methods. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Data Scientist at Datalab since January 2021, Dr. van der Veer also holds the position of Visiting Lecturer at Leiden University, where courses on data and research methods are taught. Additional roles include Postdoctoral Researcher and Business Analytics/Data Science Lecturer at Breinstein, Business Data Analyst at Statistiek in Bedrijf, and previous Senior Data Scientist for the Verbond van Verzekeraars. Dr. van der Veer completed a PhD in Social Science Research Methods at the University of Amsterdam, supplemented by advanced degrees in Political Science and Government, History, and Scandinavian Languages from Leiden University and the University of Amsterdam.
