Devin Bost

Devin Bost has an extensive work experience in the technology industry. Devin started their career in 2013 as a Junior Software Engineer at Correct Tech Inc, where they designed network infrastructure and configured network security hardware. In 2014, they founded Commandment Intelligence, LLC and served as the President and Chief Software Architect until 2018.

In 2008, Devin founded Bost Information Technology and served as the Chief Executive Officer. Devin developed high-performance, cloud-based web applications and worked with AngularJS, Node.js, UmbracoCMS, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Devin worked at Imagine Learning from 2016 to 2019, taking on various roles. As a Senior Software Engineer, they researched and developed artificial intelligence applications and introduced software design patterns and best practices. As a Staff Engineer, they led efforts to drive implementation and product-integration for an AI-driven technological product. As a Software Architect, they led research and development of machine learning and AI, focusing on big data technology and data-driven decision making.

From 2019 to 2022, Devin worked at Overstock.com as a Senior Data Engineer. Devin authored RFCs on distributed tracing, JSON Schema, and data fabric messaging architecture. Devin represented Overstock in community working groups and developed best practices and a roadmap for adopting data mesh strategy. Devin also conducted a company-wide survey and interviews to identify pain points and create solutions.

Currently, Devin works at DataStax as a Data Architect, enabling companies to solve their pain points. Devin is a contributor to Apache Pulsar and advocates for streaming best practices.

Devin Bost attended South Eugene High School from 2004 to 2007. After completing high school, they went on to study at Brigham Young University - Idaho from 2013 to 2019, but no specific degree or field of study is provided. Devin also obtained several certifications, including Big Data Integration and Processing, Big Data Modeling and Management Systems, Introduction to Big Data, and Machine Learning from Coursera. Additionally, they earned certifications in various tech-related areas such as CNZA11, DC Tech Spec, LPIC Level 1, Linux+, Novell Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) 11, Novell Certified Linux Professional, SUSE 11 Tech Spec, Network+, and A+ from various institutions. Most recently, in February 2020, Devin obtained a Real Estate Broker/Sales Agent certification from the State of Utah.
